About Penn Highlands WRC Senior Services
The beginning of WRC Senior Services takes us back to 1883. During this time, the Woman’s Relief Corp created a group of volunteers to provide care for those affected by the Civil War. This included disabled veterans, orphans, and widows.
Once gathered for their annual meeting in 1889 in Erie, Pennsylvania, former army nurse Kate Scott offered a proposal to open a home within Brookville to continue providing these services. 1890 saw the first community of WRC Senior Services open its doors.
Since our inception, we have grown to provide a full continuum of care for our residents with facilities in Clarion, Jefferson, and Elk counties. As you learn about WRC Senior Services, you will also learn that we are a non-profit organization. This makes it possible for us to focus on the needs of our residents instead of placing a focus on the bottom line like other facilities.
To learn more about WRC Senior Services, you must learn about what we provide for our residents. We strive to offer rehabilitative care, home and community services, residential living, and personal care options for each of our residents. Our services are also personalized, ensuring that each resident gets exactly what they need.
