Grace Isaacson, DO
Grace Isaacson, DO, is a Family Medicine resident physician at Penn Highlands Healthcare. Dr. Isaacson completed her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree at Rocky Vista College of Osteopathic Medicine in Ivins, Utah. While completing her studies, she dedicated her extracurriculars to help create wellness programs such as Parents in Medicine for her peers in medical school and a women’s health curriculum for the underserved women of the community. The women’s health curriculum is currently taught at the Doctor’s Volunteer Clinic of St. George by her successors. She also participated in RVU’s Long Term Care Honors Track, which is granted to students who meet outstanding academic requirements.
Dr. Isaacson was awarded RVU’s 2018 Student Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine of the Year for leadership, service to her university, and for her dedication to the osteopathic profession, which granted her the opportunity to represent her university at the AACOM National Student DO of the Year convention. Among several of her projects as Class Curriculum Representative, she promoted clinical education innovation by creating a collaborative student “Clerkship’s Survival Guide” to aid students on their clerkships and promoted an expanded curriculum that allowed students to contribute to and create virtual learning courses during the pandemic.
In the months leading up to the start of her residency with Penn Highlands, Dr. Isaacson created a program for underserved pregnant women to be treated for musculoskeletal complaints that often arise during pregnancy and the postpartum period. She volunteered her time to perform supervised pregnancy OMT and treated patients right up until her move to Dubois, Pennsylvania. Dr. Isaacson has interests in women’s health and preventative medicine. She plans to pursue an Obstetric Fellowship following her Family Medicine Residency.
Dr. Isaacson was born and raised in a large musical family in Salt Lake City, Utah. She is the oldest of 15 children and has seven brothers and seven sisters, with whom she has enjoyed singing and playing instruments. In her spare time she loves spending time outdoors with her husband and 3 beautiful children. She is excited to serve and contribute her talents to Penn Highlands Healthcare and its surrounding communities.
