In-House Procedures

PH Life's Journey OB/GYN performs the following in-office medical procedures:

NovaSure ablation: Uses radio frequency energy to remove the lining of the uterus (endometrium) to reduce or end abnormally heavy menstrual bleeding.

LEEP (Loop Electrosurgical Excision Procedure): Removes abnormal cells from the lower genital tract with a heated wire loop. May be performed in response to abnormal pap.

Cryotherapy: Destroys abnormal tissue in cervix by freezing with nitrogen gas. Often used to treat cervical dysplasia, precancerous cells in cervix.

Pelvic Floor Therapy: Includes a variety of non-surgical, painless approaches to retrain the pelvis floor muscles that help control bladder, bowel, and sexual function, and to reduce pelvic pain.

Urodynamics: Tests how well the bladder and urethra hold and release urine, as well as how well the bladder works and why there could be leaks or blockages.

Colposcopy: Uses a specialized magnification instrument to examine cervix, vagina, and vulva for cancerous or abnormal cells, genital warts, or noncancerous growths.

Endometrial Biopsy: Removes cells from lining of uterus to examine for abnormalities.

Vulvar Biopsy: Small pieces of tissue are removed from the outer part of female genitals (vulva) to check for abnormalities.

IUD (Intrauterine Device): Used for birth control. Inserted through vagina and into uterus. Replaces in place for several (3-10) years.

Nexplanon: Implantation of a small, flexible rod under the skin of a woman's upper arm to provide birth control.

Pessary: A prosthetic device is inserted into vagina to help support internal structure. For treatment of urinary incontinence or vaginal or pelvic organ prolapse.

IUI (Intrauterine Insemination): Also called artificial insemination. Washed sperm is placed into the cervix or uterine cavity via a sterile tube at the time of ovulation for the purpose of achieving conception.

After Surgery

Our PH Life's Journey OB/GYN staff will monitor you carefully before, during, and after your surgical procedure. Before going home, we will give you detailed information about postoperative care.

We will follow up with you to make sure you are doing well, but if you have concerns or questions before that, please do not hesitate to contact our office.
