PH DuBois July Employee of the Month
William “Bill” D. Waddell, distribution and material handler in Supply Chain Management is Penn Highlands DuBois Employee of the Month for July.
Bill started his career at PH DuBois in Aug. 4, 2008, in the Housekeeping Department, transferring to Supply Chain in March 25, 2009. Bill is experienced in all aspects of inventory control, distribution and perpetual area replenishment stock management. He has a vast knowledge of medical supplies and is responsible for maintaining the supplies stocked in all of the surgical suites.
What is the most challenging part of the job? “Maintaining all requests needed daily from all departments,” he said. “We work with all employees as a team and do what is asked, and respect the chain of command.”
“Bill has made great contributions to his department,” Dennis Lloyd, director, Supply Chain Operations, said. “His skill, dedication and flexibility is why he is the recipient of this award. He embodies what it means to be a team player and role model. When someone new joins our team Bill is the first to welcome them with a big smile and to extend his wealth of knowledge. In the storeroom there are many phones calls and interruptions. Bill will stop mid sentence to pick up the phone. He doesn’t believe anyone should have to wait. He takes his job very seriously.”
“Bill credits his eagerness to do the best that he can, his positive attitude and his continual mentoring of fellow team members to his time in the US Navy. To Bill stepping up to get the job done and always offering his assistance is just the right thing to do,” Dennis continued.
Bill is native and current resident of DuBois. He and his wife, Mary L. Waddell, have been married for 37 years. They have a son, Alex; a daughter, Jessica; and a granddaughter, Taylor, age 11.
He enjoys gardening and is often seen carrying in his vegetables to share with friends and co-workers. He enjoys spending time with his granddaughter. His faith in God is important to him as is his love of country.
