A new chapter of providing innovative healthcare began for Penn Highlands Healthcare in 2024 with the opening of Penn Highlands State College.

Construction of this patient-centric hospital and medical office building in Centre County marked the first time that Penn Highlands Healthcare designed and built a hospital campus to our specifications. The hospital includes a patient-centric design and atmosphere combined with outstanding amenities to ensure that everyone receives the most convenient, comfortable and innovative care close to home.

Penn Highlands State College features some of healthcare’s newest technologies throughout the campus such as online registration and biometric patient identification. From high-tech operating suites to medical imaging and targeted radiation therapy, patients benefit from advanced diagnostic and treatment technology.

In addition, the present and future healthcare needs of the region were evaluated to determine which primary and specialty services should be included. The facility offers many medical services ranging from a state-of-the-art Emergency Department to advanced cancer care — all paying close attention to the patient experience.
