Philip S. Vuocolo, MD, MHA, FACS
Philip Vuocolo, MD, MHA, FACS, is a board-certified acute care and trauma surgeon at Penn Highlands DuBois, the Trauma Program Medical Director for Penn Highlands DuBois, and Chief Medical Officer for Penn Highlands Northwest Region. Dr. Vuocolo is a highly skilled specialist and has served as chief of surgery, chief medical officer and in other senior positions. Dr. Vuocolo also served in the U.S. Navy, U.S. Air Force and New York Air National Guard, including active-duty service overseas.
Dr. Vuocolo’s clinical interests include general, laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgery; wound care; hyperbaric medicine; trauma surgery and surgical critical care; and emergency general surgery. He has published research on topics including experimental comparison of different aortic shunts (changes in hemodynamics and spinal cord evoked potential) and complications following cardiopulmonary bypass. Dr. Vuocolo also holds a Master of Healthcare Administration from the University of Minnesota School of Public Health.
