Brianna Kunes, MD

Brianna Kunes, MD is a Family Medicine Resident Physician at Penn Highlands Healthcare. Dr. Kunes was born and raised in DuBois, PA. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry at Allegheny College in Meadville, PA. She then obtained her Doctor of Medicine degree from Sidney Kimmel Medical College at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA with clinical experiences at Christiana Care in Newark, Delaware. She is excited to complete her residency at Penn Highlands Healthcare where she can continue to advance her skills in full-scope rural family practice and serve her community.

Dr. Kunes’ medical interests include community health and women’s health, specifically mitigating period poverty and menstrual stigma. She is passionate about mentoring other first-generation medical students, especially those from rural areas, in an effort to increase diversity in medical education and reduce healthcare disparities in underserved areas.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Kunes enjoys shopping for midcentury vintage items with her mom, doing home improvement projects, gardening, and spending time with her boyfriend and two cats. She looks forward to establishing trusting and compassionate relationships with her patients and investing in the community she calls home.
