Dawit Ayalew, MD

Dawit Ayalew, MD, is a Family Medicine Resident physician at Penn Highlands Healthcare. He obtained his undergraduate education at the University of Virginia, his Master’s in Physiology from Georgetown University and his Doctor in Medicine degree from the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Medicine. Dr. Ayalew completed his internship year in General Surgery at the Virginia Commonwealth University General Surgery Residency program and is excited to be a part of the Penn Highlands Family Medicine Residency program where he looks forward to building strong long-term relationships with his patients at the Family Medicine Residency clinic.

Dr. Ayalew was drawn to the Penn Highlands Family Residency Program due to the opportunity to train and practice full-scope family medicine, including procedures, inpatient medicine and preventative care.

In his free time, Dawit enjoys running and exploring the wonderful trails around DuBois and Clearfield county, playing soccer and reading non-fiction and classic novels.
