Bill's Story

The care and service from the Penn Highlands DuBois staff was wonderful.

Bill Conrad has met a lot of people during his lifetime and the frontline staff on the surgical unit at Penn Highlands DuBois made a great impression on him.

“I had some minor surgery with an overnight stay and the care and service from both the surgical staff and those for my room was just wonderful. They couldn't have been nicer; couldn't have been more understanding; and couldn't have been more caring.”

Although no one wants to need medical care, Mr. Conrad said it was a great experience. “The staff for the room or on the wing that I was in for the night were just as helpful, just as friendly and just as caring as the people in the surgical units had been. It was everybody and my hat’s off to them and I salute them!”

Mr. Conrad added that upon his discharge he met Drago, a St. Bernard that serves as a therapy dog at the hospital. “I certainly enjoyed it. Seeing the dog was a fitting end to my stay.”
