Welcome Claire Melin, MD

Penn Highlands Healthcare welcomes emergency medicine physician Claire Melin, MD, to its medical staff.

Dr. Melin joins the team at the Emergency Department at Penn Highlands Tyrone, located at 187 Hospital Drive in Tyrone.

Dr. Melin is a highly experienced physician with a broad depth of knowledge providing emergency care within urban, suburban and rural settings. She provides expert care to patients experiencing serious illnesses or injuries in Tyrone and the surrounding area.

Common treatments and procedures include abdominal emergency care, emergency heart care, emergency stroke care, emergency tests and trauma care.

Prior to joining Penn Highlands, Dr. Melin practiced at Chestnut Hill Hospital—Tower Health in Philadelphia; Bayhealth Hospital in Dover, Del.; and New York-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center in New York, N.Y.

She graduated from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in Rochester, N.Y., and completed a residency in emergency medicine at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Va. She is a member of the American College of Emergency Physicians and American Academy of Emergency Medicine.
