Bellwood Antis Public Library & TRHN Co-Sponsor Annual Family Health & Safety Fair
Bellwood Antis Public Library and Tyrone Regional Health Network/Tyrone Hospital (TRHN) are co-sponsoring the library’s 14th Annual Family Health & Safety Fair.
The event brings together numerous area agencies and organizations. Those who attend can take advantage of a variety of FREE health screenings, talk to a number of health professionals that will be on–site and gather health and safety information from many different agencies. There will also be activities for children to enjoy.
Tyrone Regional Health Network will provide free health screenings for total blood cholesterol, blood glucose, grip strength, and balance. 12- hour fasting is recommended for those who participate in the cholesterol and glucose blood screening.
DaVita, a national leader in kidney dialysis care will be on hand to provide information on kidney health and the dialysis services available on the TRHN campus.
ENT Associates of Central PA will provide hearing screening and information about their services.
Lion Care Tyrone, a service of the Penn State School of Medicine, will provide free blood pressure screening and information about the monthly Lion Care free health clinic located on the Tyrone Regional Health Network campus.
All of Us will have a representative on-site to provide information about this nationwide research project of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and how it will help create a healthier future through Precision Medicine. Community members can also get details on how they can participate.
Center for Organ Recovery and Education (CORE), will provide information about organ donation and donor cards.
Circle of Life Holistic Health Center will provide chair massage and general information about their services.
Antis Township Emergency Management will provide information on emergency preparedness.
Adelphoi Foster Care will provide kids’ activities.
Phoenix Rehabilitation Center will provide vertigo screening.
Altoona Area Lyme Disease Support Group will provide information on Lyme disease and other tick- borne disease and support group information.
Blair Senior Services will provide information on resources for senior citizens.
Victory Therapeutic Horsemanship will provide information about the therapeutic service they provide for military veterans.
Operation Our Town will provide safety awareness information.
Burgmeier’s will have a vehicle on –site to provide FREE shredding of personal documents up to 25 lbs for personal identify protection.
WIC will provide information on the Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children.
Lakemont Lions Club will provide free vision screening for children.
United Way Family Resource Center will provide service information and a kids’ activity.
Blair County Daily Princess and the Cow will provide children’s activities.
Excelsior Volunteer Fire Company of Bellwood will have firemen and fire trucks on-site and will provide fire safety information.
The Friends of the Library will hold a refreshment sale during the event to benefit the library.
The Bellwood-Antis Public Library 14th Annual Health & Safety Fair will be held Saturday February 22nd from 10 am to 1 pm at the Bellwood-Antis Public Library located at 526 Main Street in Bellwood. The event is free and open to the public.
