MVH Updates Visitation to the Hospital and Suspends Saturday Walk-in Mammograms

The health and safety of the patients, visitors and staff is the number one priority of Monongahela Valley Hospital. MVH understands how important the support of loved ones and friends is during a hospital stay. At this time, COVID-19 requires MVH to temporarily adjust its patient visitation policy.

Effective immediately, the following guidelines will be in place until further notice:

  • Visiting hours are from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • One visitor at a time will be allowed in the hospital.
  • Visitors must be 18+years old.
  • No visitors in Emergency Department treatment area.
  • All non-employees entering the hospital will be screened according to CDC guidelines.
  • All visitors are asked to sanitize their hands upon arrival to the unit.
  • Once you have concluded your visit, we will ask that you exit as soon as possible.
  • Any visitor who shows signs of illness will be asked to kindly leave for the safety of others.
  • Large groups will be discouraged to minimize congregating in common areas like lounges, waiting rooms, etc.

While these temporary measures are in place, MVH encourages continued interaction with loved ones through digital means, such as, Skype, FaceTime, Messenger and other means of communication.

Until further notice, HealthPlex Imaging is temporarily suspending mammograms on Saturdays. Walk-in mammograms will still be accommodated at HealthPlex Imaging on weekdays and Tuesday evenings. Walk-in mammograms are also offered at Monongahela Valley Hospital on weekdays.

The visitation policy may be adjusted in response to rapidly changing conditions in the region. MVH will continue to work to protect the population in the face of the global pandemic and apologize for the challenges these protections may create.
