J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital and the Kiwanis Club of Huntingdon are partnering for the eighth year to offer a Community Wellness Check on Saturday, May 4, from 7:00 to 10:00 a.m. In the Main Lobby of J.C. Blair on the Hospital in Huntingdon. The Wellness Check is an affordable, comprehensive blood test – over $350 value for just $40. Appointments can be made by going online to www.jcblair.org/wellness or by calling the hospital’s Community Relations office at (814) 643-8833.

Testing includes a lipid panel (to measure cholesterol - total, LDL, HDL and triglycerides), a metabolic panel, TSH (thyroid check), hemoglobin/hematocrit, and hemoglobin A1C. This comprehensive blood test will provide participants valuable information about their heart, thyroid, kidney and liver health, diabetes, anemia and any electrolyte imbalance.

Additional free screenings, health information and a continental breakfast, complements of the Huntingdon Kiwanis Club, will also be available at the event.

The Wellness Check is for adults 18 and older. To guarantee quick service, appointments are recommended; however, walk-ins are welcome. Participants should not eat or drink anything, except water, after midnight the night before.

Results will be sent to each participant and his or her primary care provider. Payment can be made by check, cash or credit card at the time of the screening.
