Anesthesiologist Joins J.C. Blair Medical Staff
J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon is pleased to announce the appointment of anesthesiologist Danny Forsythe, M.D., to its medical staff. Dr. Forsythe joined the J.C. Blair anesthesiology team of Dr. Atif Farag, M.D., and certified anesthetists at J.C. Blair on January 10, 2018.
For the past 18 years, Dr. Forsythe worked at Wellspan York Hospital with Anesthesia Associates of York. He performed a high level of anesthesiology care, involved in cardiac, thoracic, vascular, neurosurgical, trauma, obstetric and orthopedic surgeries, and coordinated daily anesthesia services throughout the hospital. He served on the board of directors of his anesthesia group as well as multiple committees at York Hospital including Pharmacy and Therapeutics, Quality Assurance and Peer Review.
Dr. Forsythe earned his medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine after graduating from the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Pharmacy. He completed an internal medicine residency at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh and an anesthesiology residency at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. He completed mini fellowships in obstetric, cardiac, thoracic, and pediatric anesthesiology.
He is board certified in anesthesiology and is licensed to practice in Pennsylvania. He is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists and the Pennsylvania Society of Anesthesiologists. He also served with the United States Army Reserve from 1990 – 1996 and was honorably discharged.
Dr. Forsythe will share the responsibility of providing 24 hour anesthesia service at J.C. Blair with Dr. Atif Farag and five certified nurse anesthetists, providing needed pain control for obstetric patients, preparing patients for surgery, supporting life functions during surgery, and supervising care after surgery and discharge from the recovery unit.
He is married and has a daughter, a step-daughter and a step-son, who is a student at Juniata College.
