Welcome, Syed A. Ally, MD, FCAP, FASCP
Penn Highlands Healthcare welcomes board-certified pathologist Syed A. Ally, MD, FCAP, FASCP, to its medical staff.
Dr. Ally joins the pathology team at Penn Highlands DuBois, located at 100 Hospital Avenue in DuBois.
Dr. Ally specializes in the science of the causes and effects of diseases and works closely with other members of the medical team to diagnose, treat and prevent diseases. Dr. Ally has four decades of experience in anatomic and clinical pathology and previously served as chief of pathology. Dr. Ally is dedicated to answering the questions that patients face about their illnesses, particularly when it comes to ruling out and determining the cause of their symptoms.
Common treatments and procedures include blood disorders, cancer, hemophilia, HIV/AIDS, infectious diseases, neonatal disorders and stroke.
Prior to joining Penn Highlands, Dr. Ally practiced at Bradford Regional Medical Center in Bradford; Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital in Harlan, Ky.; Al-Jahra Hospital, Ministry of Public Health, in Kuwait; International Centre for Diarrhoeal Disease Research in Dhaka, Bangladesh; and as a general practitioner in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
Dr. Ally graduated from Dhaka Medical College at the University of Dhaka in Dhaka, Bangladesh. He completed his residency in pathology at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, Ill. He is a member of the American Society of Clinical Pathologists and the College of American Pathologists.
