Welcome, Michaela Hickey, DO

Penn Highlands Healthcare welcomes Dr. Michaela Hickey, board-certified ophthalmologist, to its medical staff.

Dr. Hickey joins the team at Penn Highlands Eye Center, with locations at 1008 South 5th Avenue, Suite 201, in Clarion, and at 529 Sunflower Drive, 2nd Floor, in DuBois.

As an ophthalmologist, Dr. Hickey specializes in eye care and eye surgery. She understands how frightening a problem with your eyesight can be, and she’s here to help preserve the best possible vision for her patients. Dr. Hickey is originally from Michigan and now resides in DuBois. She practices yoga and barre, and she’s an avid runner and water sport enthusiast.

Common treatments and procedures include cataract surgery, eyelid surgery, diabetic eye exams, comprehensive eye exams, glaucoma management, macular degeneration exams and presbyopia treatment.

Prior to joining Penn Highlands, Dr. Hickey practiced at Medical and Surgical Eye Associates in Southfield, Michigan.

Dr. Hickey graduated from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Erie. She completed her residency in ophthalmology at Oakwood Hospital System in Taylor, Mich. She is a member of the American Osteopathic Colleges of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery; American Academy of Ophthalmology; and American Osteopathic Association.
