Welcome, MaryElyn Hunter, CRNP

Penn Highlands Healthcare welcomes certified registered nurse practitioner MaryElyn Hunter to its medical staff.

Hunter joins the team at Penn Highlands Tyrone, located at 187 Hospital Drive in Tyrone.

As a hospitalist, Hunter cares for patients admitted to the hospital and works closely with their primary care provider to collaborate and communicate about previous care, current diagnosis, medications and treatment plans. Hunter is deeply committed to delivering compassionate, individualized and comforting care to patients.

Common treatments and procedures include physical exam and screening, development of treatment plans, discharge of patients, providing patient and family education, application of dressing/bandages and wound care.

Prior to joining Penn Highlands, Hunter practiced at Bradford Regional Medical Center in Bradford, U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, Tyrone Regional Health Network in Tyrone and Encompass Health.

Hunter earned her Master of Science in Family Nurse Practitioner from Chamberlain University in Addison, Ill. She earned her Associate Degree in Nursing from Mount Aloysius College in Cresson.
