Welcome, Lin Chen, MD, PhD
Penn Highlands Healthcare welcomes board-certified ophthalmologist Lin Chen, MD, PhD, to its medical staff.
Dr. Chen joins the team at Penn Highlands Eye Center located at 1227 Warm Springs Avenue, Suite 303, in Huntingdon.
Dr. Chen is an experienced, compassionate ophthalmologist and cataract and eyelid surgeon. With over 20 years of experience, Dr. Chen offers highly specialized diagnosis and treatment of all eye diseases. Problems with eyesight can be intimidating, but Dr. Chen is here with expert care that’s close to home.
Common treatments and procedures include cataract surgery, eyelid surgery, botox injection, diabetic eye exams, comprehensive eye exams, glaucoma management, macular degeneration exams and dry eye treatment.
Prior to joining Penn Highlands, Dr. Chen practiced at Marshfield Clinic Healthcare System in Wisconsin for more than 18 years. Dr. Chen was also an assistant professor at Scheie Eye Institute, University of Pennsylvania, in Philadelphia before she moved to Wisconsin.
Dr. Chen graduated with an MD at Shanghai Medical University, Shanghai, China
and a Ph.D from Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN. Dr. Chen completed a residency in ophthalmology at the University of California, Davis, in Sacramento, Calif., and an ophthalmology observership concentrated in oculoplastic surgery at Moorefields Eye Hospital in London, UK, the first eye hospital in the world.
