Welcome, John Ford, MD

Penn Highlands Healthcare welcomes board-certified oncologist John Ford, MD, to its medical staff.

Ford joins the team at the new Penn Highlands Oncology/Hematology in Huntingdon, located at 900 Bryan Street, Suite 4.

Penn Highlands Oncology/Hematology is a brand-new service in Huntingdon. The clinic is now open for office visits, with infusions anticipated to begin in April 2021.

Ford has more than 40 years of experience in cancer research and treatment. He is committed to making sure his patients have access to the best ideas and care in the world, but as close to home as possible. Common treatments and procedures include anemia, low or high platelets, leukemia, adult cancers and bone marrow procedures.

Prior to joining Penn Highlands, Dr. Ford practiced as an oncologist, including as chief of oncology, at hospitals and health systems around the country. Ford practiced at Mount Nittany Physicians Group in State College for 13 years; Weatherby Oncology in various locum tenens positions; Guthrie Clinic in Sayre; Gelder Medical Group in Sidney, N.Y.; Lehigh Valley Hospital – Muhlenberg in Bethlehem; Cancer Outreach Association in Abingdon, Va.; A.O. Fox Hospital in Oneonta, N.Y.; St. Joseph Medical Center in Reading; UMA in Binghamton, N.Y.; and Lucy Lee Hospital in Poplar Bluff, Mo.

Ford graduated from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, New York. He completed his residency at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Mich.; a fellowship in hematology/oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York; and a fellowship in medical oncology at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York.
