Welcome, Jessica Lundgren, MD
Penn Highlands Healthcare welcomes Dr. Jessica Lundgren, board-certified endocrinologist, to its medical staff.
Dr. Lundgren joins the team at Penn Highlands Endocrinology, providing full-time telemedicine services to patients at 820 Bryan Street, Suite 1 Huntingdon and Pinecroft Community Medical Building, 417 Sabbath Rest Road, Suite 3, Altoona.
Dr. Lundgren, a native of DuBois, provides expert care for patients experiencing endocrine conditions. The endocrine system is a network of glands that produce and release hormones, which control everything from how your body uses energy to your immune system to your sexual health. When not functioning properly, they can cause thyroid problems, adrenal disorders, pituitary gland disorders and diabetes.
Common treatments and procedures include diabetes, thyroid disease, parathyroid disease, osteoporosis, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), obesity, and pituitary and adrenal gland issues.
Prior to joining Penn Highlands, Dr. Lundgren completed a fellowship in endocrinology and metabolism at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Va. She graduated from Penn State University College of Medicine in Hershey, and she completed a residency in internal medicine at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Va. She is a member of the Endocrine Society.
