Welcome Forozan Navid, MD

Penn Highlands Healthcare welcomes board-certified cardiovascular surgeon Forozan Navid, MD, to its medical staff.

Dr. Navid joins the team at Penn Highlands Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery, located at 145 Hospital Avenue, Suite 300, in DuBois.

Dr. Navid has more than three decades of experience in providing patients with exceptional care for complex heart problems. In addition to caring for patients, Dr. Navid has published more than 60 articles on cardiovascular and thoracic surgery. He has previously served as the Clinical Director of Cardiac Surgery at the UPMC Heart and Vascular Institute.

Common treatments and procedures include coronary artery bypass graft, complex aortic procedures, endoscopic vein harvesting, minimally invasive maze procedure and valve repair and valve replacement.

Prior to joining Penn Highlands, Dr. Navid practiced at the UPMC Heart and Vascular Institute in Pittsburgh, RAJ Cardiovascular Association in Pittsburgh and the Heart and Lung Institute at St. Francis Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Dr. Navid graduated from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Va. He completed residencies in general surgery and thoracic surgery at the University of Virginia Health Sciences Center in Charlottesville, Va.

He is a fellow of the American College of Surgery and a member of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons, International Society for Minimally Invasive Cardiac Surgery, Pennsylvania Association of Thoracic Surgeons, American Medical Association, Pennsylvania Medical Society and Allegheny County Medical Society.
