Penn Highlands Healthcare welcomes emergency medicine physician Cortnie Carlheim to its medical staff.
Dr. Carlheim joins the team at the Emergency Departments at Penn Highlands DuBois, located at 100 Hospital Avenue, and Penn Highlands Huntingdon, located at 1225 Warm Springs Avenue.
Dr. Carlheim provides expert care to patients experiencing serious illness or injury, utilizing state-of-the-art technology and procedures. The Emergency Departments at Penn Highlands offer 24/7 care and immediate access to specialty care for heart, stroke, brain injuries, neonatal intensive care, trauma and severe abdominal pain.
Common treatments and procedures include airway management, acute pain management, diagnosis of emergent conditions, wound repair, point of care ultrasound, procedural sedation and acute fracture/dislocation management.
Dr. Carlheim graduated from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in Philadelphia. She completed her residency in emergency medicine at Drexel University College of Medicine/Hahnemann University Hospital in Philadelphia and at Christiana Care in Newark, Del. She is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Osteopathic Association, the American College of Emergency Physicians, and the American College of Osteopathic Emergency Physicians.
