Welcome Carolyn Moore, MD

Penn Highlands Healthcare welcomes board-certified thoracic surgeon Carolyn Moore, MD, to its medical staff.

Dr. Moore joins the team at Penn Highlands Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery at 145 Hospital Avenue in DuBois.

As a fellowship-trained surgeon, Dr. Moore has achieved the top level of education and specialization in thoracic surgery. She provides patients with highly skilled surgical care for diseased or injured organs in the chest.

Common treatments and procedures include chest wall resection and reconstruction, decortication, Heller myotomy, hiatal hernia surgery via Nissen fundoplication, lung resection, Nuss procedure, pericardial window and thymectomy.

Dr. Moore is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine in Pittsburgh. She completed her internship and residency in general surgery at Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta, Ga. She completed a fellowship in general thoracic surgery and foregut at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Mass., and a fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery at Kansas University Medical Center in Kansas City, Kan.

She is a member of the Women in Thoracic Surgery and Society of Socially Responsible Surgeons.
