Penn Highlands Healthcare welcomes orthopedic surgeon Ashish Kumar Patel, MD, to its medical staff.

Patel joins the team at Penn Highlands Orthopedics, located at 145 Hospital Avenue, Suite 311, DuBois. Patel will also see patients at 88 Hospital Road, 2nd floor, DuBois, and at 815 Doctors’ Drive, Clearfield.

Patel is a highly experienced orthopedic surgeon and offers the most advanced treatments and procedures to repair joints, bones, ligaments, tendons and cartilage.

Prior to joining Penn Highlands, Patel practiced at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center; SKJS Institute in Surat, Gujarat, India; Government Medical College in Bhavnagar, India; and Bajarangdasbapa Hospital in Bhavnagar, India.

Patel graduated from Pramukhswami Medical College in Anand, Karamsad, Gujarat, India. Patel completed a residency in orthopedic surgery at Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore, India; a senior registrar orthopedic residency at Pramukh Swami Medical College in Karamsad, India; a pediatric orthopedic surgery fellowship at Orlando Health Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children in Orlando, Fla.; and a hand and upper extremity fellowship and a foot and ankle fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center. Patel is a member of the Indian Medical Association, Gujarat Spine Association, Gujarat Orthopedic Association, Association of Spine Surgeon of India and The International Society for the Advancement of Spine Surgery.
