Welcome, Alexandra Barrett, CNM

Penn Highlands Healthcare welcomes Alexandra Barrett, certified nurse midwife, to its medical staff.

Barrett joins the team at Penn Highlands Life’s Journey, with locations at 190 West Park Avenue, Suite 9, in DuBois, and 551 West Mahoning Street in Punxsutawney.

As a midwife, Barrett provides comprehensive, individualized care to expectant and new mothers in a supportive, caring environment. Common treatments and procedures include obstetrics/pregnancy, women’s health services and maternity unit.

Prior to joining Penn Highlands, Barrett practiced at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital in Kittanning, Allegheny Valley Hospital in Natrona Heights and Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Barrett earned her Doctor of Nursing Practice in Midwifery at the University of Pittsburgh. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Penn State New Kensington and an Associate of Science in Nursing at Penn State Behrend in Erie. She is a member of the American College of Nurse Midwives.
