Ridgmont Personal Care Facility Seeks Approval to Close

Penn Highlands Healthcare has notified the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services that they will be closing Ridgmont, a personal care community in Ridgway, Pennsylvania. Residents, their families and the facility’s staff were told that the personal care community, which provides accommodations for up to 40 residents will be closing in spring 2024.

The current 21 residents are being offered accommodations at Penn Highlands Jefferson Manor and Penn Highlands WRC Laurelbrooke Personal Care, both in Brookville, as well as Penn Highlands WRC Edgewood Heights in New Bethlehem and other Penn Highlands Healthcare senior living facilities as deemed appropriate. Penn Highlands Healthcare will ensure that each resident and their belongings are moved safely and efficiently to their new homes.

In addition, the people employed at Ridgmont will be offered an incentive to stay until Ridgmont closes and will have the opportunity to apply to open positions throughout the Penn Highlands Healthcare system.
