Gastroenterologist Joins Penn Highlands Healthcare
Christos Karalis, MD, gastroenterologist, recently joined Penn Highlands Healthcare.
Dr. Karalis sees patients and performs procedures in the office and in the adjacent endoscopy center located in the DuBois Community Medical Building, 621 South Main Street, DuBois.
Penn Highlands Gastroenterology specializes in diseases of the esophagus, stomach, liver, pancreas, gallbladder and colon.
Dr. Karalis earned his medical degree from Carol Davila School of Medicine, Bucharest, Romania, and completed an Internal Medicine Residency at Cornell University Medical Center, The New York Hospital Medical Center of Queens, Long Island, New York.
He also completed a Fellowship in Gastroenterology at Wake Forest University School of Medicine, The North Carolina Baptist Hospital, Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
Among the common conditions that Dr. Karalis treats include liver disease, irritable bowel syndrome, Crohn’s disease, ulcerative colitis and many other acute and chronic diseases of the gastrointestinal tract.
