Pay It Forward student project benefits Senior Outreach
As a Pay It Forward project Ryan Heary, a student at Elk County Catholic High School, organized a collection of personal care and cleaning items to support the Community Nurses Senior Outreach Program. Tiffany Winkler of Community Nurses Home Support Services accepted the items on behalf of the Senior Outreach clients who will receive the products.
Senior Outreach provides these personal care and cleaning supplies at no cost to individuals who are in need of these items to live safely and comfortably in their homes. The Senior Outreach Program also offers a telephone reassurance program. Phone calls are made on a periodic basis to provide isolated seniors with a feeling of security and safety, and to follow up with individuals who may benefit from a closer monitoring of their general health or well being.
Community Nurses, Inc., an affiliate of Penn Highlands Elk, provides home health, hospice, private duty/home support services, adult day care, and educational programs to the residents of Cameron, Elk and McKean Counties, and parts of Clearfield, Jefferson and Potter Counties.
