Musser presents Penn Highlands Updates at Meeting
Rebecca Nelson, Community Nurses CEO, welcomed Brian Musser, Community/Physician Outreach Specialist, Penn Highlands Healthcare, as the guest speaker for the June meeting of the Community Collaborative to Improve Health Care.
Mr. Musser gave a brief overview of the service area he covers for Penn Highlands Healthcare and of the marketing outreach for all service lines within the system. He emphasized the commitment of the Penn Highlands Healthcare to provide the highest standard of patient care and to maintain state-of-the-art capabilities.
Penn Highlands DuBois has acquired the TrueBeam system from Varian Medical Systems for Hahne Regional Cancer Center’s Radiation Oncology program. The TrueBeam system is an advanced system that is capable of fast and precise image-guided radiotherapy.
Mr. Musser updated the group on the new 128 slice CT scanner purchased by Penn Highlands Elk. The new CT scanner is the latest technology and the only one in the state of Pennsylvania. The scanner offers patient friendly design and advanced dose reduction features and exceptional clinical benefits.
Ongoing community education continues to be a focus of Penn Highlands. A women’s health program, “Do You Believe in Vibrancy” has been scheduled for August 12 at Gunners Restaurant. The program will cover sensitive topics in women’s health.
