Lenten Works of Mercy Donation
Community Nurses Hospice Grateful Recipient
Community Nurses Hospice was the grateful recipient of a donation from the Lenten Works of Mercy program sponsored each year by the Catholic churches in St. Marys; St. Marys Church, Sacred Heart Church, and Queen of the World Church.
Through the generosity of their parishioners the campers at Camp Flutterbye will be provided with the tools they need to effectively cope with the grief and loss of a loved one. Amber Franco, Community Nurses, Hospice Supervisor, is pictured receiving the donation from Betsy Roberts, representing the Lenten Works of Mercy program.
Camp Flutterbye is a free bereavement program offered to children, grades K-12. It was developed to help children cope with the grief and loss of a loved one. This loved one may include a parent, grandparent, sibling, extended family or friend. It is a fun filled, two day camp that includes different meaningful activities, crafts, swimming and a one on one talk with bereavement professionals. Camp Flutterbye provides the children with effective coping tools, that may help them deal with the different emotions and feelings that may have as they advance through the grieving process. Camp Flutterbye will be held June 8-9, 2017 in St. Marys. Please call 814-781-4722 for more information.
