Penn Highlands Healthcare Hosts Successful Fundraiser
Penn Highlands Healthcare is pleased to announce that the Dr. Gary DuGan Memorial Fun Fest was another successful fundraiser. The event which was held on August 23, 2025 raised more than $20,000.
The fun fest, which was held in partnership with the DuBois Area YMCA, attracted more than 125 people. Activities included something for every member of the family including a basket raffle with 85 baskets; 50/50 raffle; face painting; and information tables. Additionally, there was a 5-K run and one-mile walk as well as Pickleball and Zumba on the stage.
Speakers included Sam Vida, Fund Development Specialist and Event Strategist from Penn Highlands Healthcare; Scott Frano, CEO of the DuBois Area YMCA; Kevin Wilson, DO, Osteopathic Director at Penn Highlands Healthcare and a core faculty member of the Family Medicine Residency Program; Grant Schirmer, DO, who practices Hospital Medicine at Penn Highlands Healthcare; and Mitchell DuGan, a son of Dr. Gary DuGan.
Penn Highlands Healthcare expresses appreciation to everyone who attended the event as well as the generous sponsors and donors.
The Dr. Gary DuGan Memorial Family Fun Fest is held in memory of Dr. Gary DuGan who was the former Medical Director of Penn Highlands Healthcare. His vision led to the establishment of the residency program at Penn Highlands DuBois. He was also a passionate advocate for the DuBois YMCA and physical fitness.
