Welcome Andrea Barber, CRNP

Penn Highlands Elk welcomes Andrea Barber, certified registered nurse practitioner, to its medical staff.

Barber works as a hospitalist and offers patient-centered treatment for acute and chronic illness or injury to those who have been admitted to PH Elk.

“I am excited about my new role at Penn Highlands Elk,” Barber said.

Barber comes to Penn Highlands from UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh, where she worked as nurse in the Neurovascular Intensive Care Unit providing highly-specialized care to patients with critical neurological injuries.

She earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing at Carlow University in Pittsburgh and then returned to earn her master’s degree in nursing, providing her with the necessary training to practice as a family nurse practitioner. She is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, the American Association of Critical Care Nurses and the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.

A native of Pittsburgh, Barber currently resides in St. Marys.
