PH Elk Welcomes New Physician Assistant to QCare St. Marys
Penn Highlands Elk is pleased to welcome Erin Lingenfelter, PA-C, to its medical staff. Ms. Lingenfelter will see patients at the QCare facility in the Medical Office Building in St. Marys.
“I am excited to work at QCare with the two other wonderful providers. It means a lot to me to be able to give back to the community I grew up in, and I know many patients appreciate that their healthcare provider is local. This is my dream career, and I am extremely thankful to my family and friends who made that a reality,” said Lingenfelter.
Originally from Ridgway, now St. Marys, Ms. Lingenfelter graduated from Slippery Rock University in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in exercise science. While there, she worked as a laboratory assistant in the exercise science lab and also served as president of the Exercise Science Society. She then performed an internship at the Bradford Regional Medical Center in the cardiac rehabilitation unit where she administered fitness assessments and developed exercise prescriptions for individual patients.
Ms. Lingenfelter went on to Lock Haven University, where she got her master’s degree as a physician assistant. In addition to her regular clinical experience, Ms. Lingenfelter performed a general surgery rotation, where she learned incisions, suturing and the use of laparoscopes.
Ms. Lingenfelter served as a medical volunteer in Mkoba, Zimbabwe in 2013.
No appointment is needed to visit QCare. The office is open Monday through Friday 11 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. It is closed weekends and holidays. Other providers at QCare St. Marys include Bill Wittman, CRNP and Melanie Riglin, PA-C. The office is undergoing extensive renovations to expand the space and increase patient privacy.
