PH Elk Receives $200,000 from the A.J. and Sigismunda Palumbo Charitable Trust

Penn Highlands Elk recently was awarded $200,000 from the A.J. and Sigismunda Palumbo Charitable Trust to fund the construction, purchase and placement of a new state-of-the-art Digital Radiography Room for orthopedic care.

According to PH Elk’s president, Brad Chapman, Digital Radiography is the new standard for medical imaging as it provides nearly immediate execution of high-quality medical images, directly at the point of care.

This project falls in line with Penn Highlands Healthcare’s goal of creating a system-wide Orthopedics Center of Excellence, Chapman said.

“In addition to delivering exceptional orthopedic care to more patients throughout Elk, Cameron and McKean Counties, our goal is to streamline orthopedic care and achieve superior patient outcomes, such as faster recovery, more mobility and less pain,” he said.

Over the years, the A.J. and Sigismunda Palumbo Charitable Trust and its board of directors have been very generous in their support of many projects and programs throughout Penn Highlands Healthcare.

“We are immensely grateful for the continued support of the A.J. and Sigismunda Palumbo Charitable Trust,” Chapman said. “They unequivocally share our dedication to caring for our communities and ensuring a healthy future for generations to come.”
