Dr. Wu-Jan Lin Retires After 38 Years at Penn Highlands Elk
After 38 years of service to Penn Highlands Elk, Dr. Wu-Jan Lin has retired.
“Dr. Lin is a great physician and friend to the staff here, and he did a lot for this hospital and community,” said Sara Myers, RN, director of the Maternal & Child Center at Penn Highlands Elk.
Dr. Lin’s first delivery was on August 12, 1977 at 10:30 p.m. It was a boy. Since then, he delivered 6,841 babies in St. Marys. This number includes 55 sets of twins and one set of triplets.
Those numbers do not include the babies he delivered in Ridgway or during the five years he worked in New York City before coming to Elk County.
“We thank Dr. Lin for his service to the women of our community,” said Rose Campbell, president of Penn Highlands Elk. “He has been an excellent physician and a kind co-worker to all our staff. We will miss having him at our hospital but wish him all the best in his retirement.”
Recently Dr. Kathy Elizeus was added to the staff at Penn Highlands Elk to provide obstetric and gynecologic services. Patient files of Dr. Lin’s have been transferred to Dr. Elizeus, who is seeing patients in the same suite of the Medical Office Building, located directly behind the hospital.
