Patriotic Employer

Penn Highlands Clearfield and its Emergency Department Director John Bacher were recently recognized as a Patriotic Employer by the Office of the Secretary of Defense. The award recognizes the hospital and Bacher for contributing to national security and protecting liberty and freedom by supporting employee participation in the National Guard and Reserve Force. Sgt. Betsy Clark of the Pennsylvania National Guard and Capt. Carol DeSantis of the United States Army Reserves, both registered nurses in the emergency department, are appreciative of Bacher’s willingness to accommodate their schedules so they may continue to serve in the National Guard and Reserve Force.
