Macioce Appointed to State Healthcare Organization Board
Gary Macioce, president of Penn Highlands Clearfield, a hospital of Penn Highlands Healthcare, was recently appointed to serve a three-year term on the board of The Hospital & Healthsystem Association of Pennsylvania, also known as HAP, headquartered in Harrisburg.
HAP is a statewide membership services organization that advocates for nearly 240 Pennsylvania acute and specialty care, primary care, sub-acute care, long-term care, home health, and hospice providers, as well as the patients and communities they serve.
As a board member, Macioce will collaborate with healthcare leaders across the state to further HAP’s mission and advance initiatives designed to improve healthcare delivery across the state.

He is especially engaged on rural health policy. In addition, Gary has been a leader within the Penn Highlands Healthcare System, working to transform the delivery of care in the region. This expertise is important as the board continues to advance changes that involve population health, patient-centric care and cost efficiencies.”

In addition to his recent appointment to the HAP Board, Macioce is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and a member of the Clearfield Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.
Prior to being named president of Penn Highlands Clearfield in 2012, Macioce held leadership roles within Penn Highlands Healthcare, most notably chief operating officer of Penn Highlands DuBois and interim president of Penn Highlands Brookville.
Macioce was formerly the vice president of operations at Uniontown Hospital, and also served as vice president at Canonsburg General Hospital, Canonsburg, and West Allegheny Hospital, Oakdale.
Macioce attended Slippery Rock University and received his Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy from the State University of New York at Stony Brook. He subsequently earned his Master’s Degree in Health Administration from the University of Pittsburgh.
