Welcome Joy Shaw, PA-C
Penn Highlands Healthcare welcomes Joy Shaw, board certified physician assistant, who sees patients at the new QCare Brookville, located at 111 Summit Street in Brookville.
Shaw, who is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants, diagnoses and treats patients with minor, acute illnesses and injuries such as earaches, sinus problems, colds and coughs and sprains. She also completes physicals for sports and the Department of Transportation.
“I am thrilled to be part of the Penn Highlands Healthcare team and to provide quality and accessible healthcare at the QCare Brookville,” said Shaw. “The opportunity for me to serve the community and connect with patients is something that I really look forward to.”
Shaw earned her bachelor’s degree in health science from the University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh and her master’s degree in physician assistant studies from Alderson Broaddus University in Philippi, W. Va. She is a member of the Hu C. Myers Physician Assistant Alumni Association and the American Heart Association.
A native of Pittsburgh, Shaw currently resides in DuBois. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, culinary art and volunteering. She has visited 15 countries and has participated in two medical mission trips. She has been an active volunteer in several hospitals and also serves as a member of Animal Friends, a non-profit animal resource center based in Pittsburgh.
