PH Brookville Honors Volunteers and Auxiliary Members
Penn Highlands Brookville hosted its annual volunteer and PH Brookville Auxiliary breakfast on April 30 in honor of National Volunteer Week.
“We have the best volunteers and auxiliary members,” Cortnee Reynolds of PH Brookville Human Resources said, who oversees the volunteers. “They brighten the lives of our staff, patients and visitors every day.”
“We are so fortunate at Penn Highlands Brookville to have such an active auxiliary,” Donna Haney of the PH Brookville Auxiliary, said. “Our group consists of retired employees, current employees and individuals from the community who have a sincere interest in our hospital. We enjoy the work we do and enjoy working with each other.”
Julie Peer, president of PH Brookville, thanked all the volunteers for their hard work. “The auxiliary takes the time to plant flowers, decorate for the season and have fundraisers – all for our hospital. Volunteers sit with patients and help deliver mail and help visitors navigate the hospital,” Peer said. “They help in so many ways, and the value they add to our hospital is immeasurable.”
“Our volunteers are extremely helpful in many different ways,” Reynolds said. “They fill in when needed to help ensure our hospital is the best it can be!”
There is always room for one more volunteer. Volunteering is open to all person 17 years and older who wish to dedicate time and energy to either or both the auxiliary and the Hospital Volunteer Program. Anyone who enjoys helping other people in the community is invited to join.
For more information on volunteering, call Reynolds at 849-1448. For more information on the auxiliary contact Haney at 849-1832. The auxiliary meets the third Wednesday of every month at 9:30 a.m. in the hospital’s private dining room.
