Emergency Department
Penn Highlands State College
Penn Highlands State College’s Emergency Department, located on the hospital’s first floor, is a campus of Penn Highlands Huntingdon and the newest emergency department in the Penn Highlands system — part of a $90 million hospital that opened in July 2024 as the centerpiece of the system’s Master Facilities Plan.
The ER includes 10 private treatment rooms and a dedicated trauma room, and Penn Highlands is pursuing Level IV trauma center certification for the department. Patients also benefit from a direct, coordinated connection to Huntingdon’s on-site cardiac catheterization lab and surgical team for cases that need a higher level of care.
Pediatric emergency care is available for patients of all ages.
