Emergency Department
Penn Highlands Clearfield
Penn Highlands Clearfield’s Emergency Department, located on the hospital’s first floor, provides 24-hour care for serious illness and injury as a campus of Penn Highlands DuBois.
A $6 million expansion relocated and more than doubled the size of the ER — to over 12,000 square feet — adding two trauma bays, eight private exam rooms, dedicated behavioral health and OB/GYN rooms, an isolation room, and a separate ambulance entrance.
The department is also backed by a full suite of ACR-accredited imaging, including CT, ultrasound, mammography, and MRI, so patients get fast, accurate diagnostic answers on-site rather than waiting on a transfer.
For residents of Curwensville and the surrounding Clearfield County communities who don’t have a full-service ER closer to home, Penn Highlands Clearfield is the nearest option for emergency care, with direct access to DuBois’s Level II Trauma Center — the only one in Northwestern Pennsylvania — for patients who need a higher level of care.
