Dr. Michael Sabatini's Story

High-level Heart Care with Good Outcomes

When Michael Sabatini was growing up in suburban Pittsburgh, providing interventional cardiac care in rural communities was not on his radar. In fact, at Penn State University, his undergraduate major was physics.

According to Dr. Sabatini, his dad influenced his decision to pursue a career in medicine; and while at Penn State his interest intensified during conversations with his advisor. While he was contemplating his career path, the appeal of physiology led him to interventional cardiology.

“I find the relationship between the pumps, timers and multiple devices that I use in the procedures very interesting,” said Dr. Sabatini. He continued, “It is particularly rewarding to provide interventional cardiology care to patients in these rural areas because we are very fortunate to have the advanced technology necessary to provide high-level specialty care.”

Dr. Sabatini is proud of the outstanding care that he provides throughout Central Pennsylvania – particularly to patients at Penn Highlands Huntingdon.
